This is an art project that closely follows a tutorial from Polish artist Kasia Zmokla. The elements resonated so much with me, I decided to simply place my wife Gloria in it. She was very happy with the result and what I decided to do is print it on canvas and give it to her as a Mother’s Day gift.
My wife’s zodiac sign is Aquarius and she loves the ocean. The background word in Japanese means “God,” but in the language it suggests a male figure—ergo, that is why the title of Emperor and Divine God is only held by a man in Japan. So the closest suggestion to Queen/Princess is the Kanji poem to the left (Saho-hime).
I decided to add another level of possible confusion or metaphor by simply titling the final image “Sirena.” For those not familiar with Spanish, it means siren.
Feliz Dia de las Madres Mi Amor.
